[Review]Always You by Belle Brooks

Title: Always You

Author: Belle Brooks

Genre: Romance

Goodreads Rating: 4.78 stars

“I will breathe for you.”

Some people’s bodies are built to run marathons. Others to lift and labour. And some are made so graceful their footsteps are barely heard.
My body was built to be a vessel. It was Always You.

Maybelline Connors knows stars are not always as faultless as they appear. She knows life is not permanently concreted into its foundations and love can last a lifetime…even when a lifetime is shorter than one hoped.
Willard Connors knows that life will rob you. That dreams are just that—dreams. And no matter how hard one prays, a star riddled with faults will always be riddled with faults.

What Will is yet to learn, is that he is stronger and braver than he ever imagined he could be. And that gifts from the heart leave a lasting imprint—an imprint unable to be erased.
With life there is love… with love there will always be life.

I read this book as part of the Quirky Blind Date with a Book. It was the Super Secret book of the month which means that we had no idea who the author was, what the title was, or anything. It is definitely my favorite Blind Date with a Book to date.

To put into words all of the emotions I felt while reading Always You would be near impossible. This book wrecked me. Plain and simple. It was heartbreakingly beautiful. It was tragically glorious. It was maddeningly emotional. I have never cried so much while reading a book as I did with this one. I actually had to stop about halfway through so I could go read a “happy” book.

May and Will’s love will continue on for an eternity. It’s so beautiful to watch their love for one another continue to flourish despite the tragic situation they’ve found themselves in. I loved May’s bucket list and how she and her family completed it together.

I also really loved May and Will’s tree. Their love started there, and the tree has grown with them. The timeline that Will has carved into the tree over time was really cool. I’m very glad that the tree is where it ended, too.

If you want a book that will leave you in tears but with a new outlook on life and a heart full of love, this is your book. I strongly recommend it. It’s tough to read some of the trials that May and Will go through, but seeing their love shine through is worth every ounce of pain.

5/5 fault-filled stars

Born in Australia, Belle Brooks has always had a passion for books and creative writing. She loves exploring the different ways stories can be told through the use of text and in-depth characters. Since she was a child her strong talent and interest in creative writing was evident, explaining that her favourite class in school was English. Despite her love for all things books, she decided the world of advertising and marketing was where she could put her talents to use in the business realm, well that is until now. Belle enjoys creative writing and creating fictional stories that leave a valued message inside the pages

  1. Just from reading the synopsis it really doesn’t seem like my kind of book, because I’m not really into romantic stuff. But your review makes me think I should venture outside of my comfort zone more often and try reading books like this!
